Chapter 7 bankruptcy is sometimes called "liquidation" bankruptcy. Chapter 7 of Title 11 of the United States Code governs the process of liquidation under the bankruptcy laws of the United States.

341 Hearing

Generally, you will only have to make one appearance in front of the Bankruptcy Trustee at a Chapter 7, 341 hearing. Our attorney will attend the hearing with you and prepare any additional paperwork your Trustee may require.

Discharge

The bankruptcy process takes on average 4-6 months. Many types of unsecured debt will be discharged in a Chapter 7, however  certain non-exempt debts, such as, but not limited to spousal support and government backed student; loans may not discharged. The debtor receives a discharge of all dischargeable debts usually within four-six months.
